25.10.2007 - Enthone Introduces Novel Catalytic Inks
Enthone Inc., a business of Cookson Electronics, announces the expansion of its product portfolio with novel catalytic inks through a worldwide exclusive licensing agreement with TECSEN SA, Brussels, Belgium.
Under the terms of the agreement, Enthone will gain exclusive worldwide rights to manufacture, market and sell catalytic ink technologies used in a wide range of applications, including inductive phone cards, RFID, flexible printed circuits, plated shielding, and decorative plating on plastics. Primarily marketed under the EnTRACE™ trade name, the advanced line of inks offers superior yield performance for the metallization of a new range of plastic substrates. The patented inks offer a shorter, environmentally friendly metallization process, while providing strong adhesion on a wide variety of engineering resins, such as ABS/PC, PEI, PET, PBT, PA, PPS, PEEK, PAA, or PS. Stephen J. LaCroce, vice president of marketing, Enthone, stated: “The addition of the EnTRACE product line to our well-established, industry-leading plating-on-plastics technologies allows Enthone to strategically strengthen its existing offerings of high reliability, innovative solutions, while [allowing our customers] to benefit from Enthone’s substantial global manufacturing and service infrastructure.” According to LaCroce, Enthone’s intent is to expand the availability of the catalytic inks throughout the company’s global manufacturing reach. Enthone also plans to devote significant R&D resources to both enhance existing products and develop new products based on the EnTRACE technology, he added.
